Benistar Admin Services, Inc. (BASI), is a licensed national Third Party Administrator (TPA) specializing in providing plan sponsors with retiree healthcare solutions. Headquartered in Avon, CT Benistar has over 25 years of experience in working with Labor Unions, local Municipalities, State plans, School Districts, and companies of all sizes, with industry leading retiree medical, prescription drug benefits and administrative services. These are delivered either on a stand-alone or bundled basis.
Benistar is a certified federally qualified minority owned corporation (MBE) and it is entirely owned by its employees (through an ESOP plan). Benistar is one of only a small handful of TPA’s nationally that are approved by the U.S. Department of Treasury (IRS) for the administration of the Federal Health Coverage Tax Credit program (HCTC).
Benistar cannot assist Metlife enrollees, you must call Metlife.

Credit Card payments for BCBSM coverage are no longer accepted and will not be in the future. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this option is no longer available because your payment is not being made directly to BCBSM.
You can make your payments by setting up EFT (electronic funds transfer) with your bank account or by mailing your payments to Benistar.

EFT PAYMENT INFORMATION: If you have used auto payments such as EFT for your premiums in 2019, you must re-establish EFT payments for 2020 premiums with Benistar. The EFT enrollment information should have been included in your January insurance premium invoice from Benistar or you can call Benistar for more information on establishing automatic EFT payments for 2020. Autopay services such as EFT from 2019 will not carryover to 2020!

You MUST keep Benistar apprised of any address or phone number changes! There is NO need for you to contact BCBSM, Hartford, Express Scripts or Guardian Life Insurance, Benistar will maintain the contact/billing address for these carriers.
